The 1970s – Origins
Norblast was founded in 1976 as a company dedicated to the surface finishing of mechanical components.
As years progressed, the company’s skills developed and opportunities arose to explore different sectors and applications in a widening number of fields: from die cleaning to the automotive and aerospace industries, glass working and steel machining to surgical instruments.
The 1980s – The Innovative Spirit
This decade was marked by an ambition to transform shot and sand blasting processes from simple surface treatments to the “solution to the problem,” leading to the setup of the Research and Development Center and Special Machines Division. A strong emphasis on customer needs enabled Norblast to design custom-made machines.
The 1990s – Structured Research
Norblast’s scope of activity expanded during the 1990s with the introduction of SHOT PEENING.
Research became formalized through ongoing partnerships with research centers and universities. The identity of “Peen Service” started to take shape.
2000 - Internationalization
Peen Service was now an established service of the company and became a separate division that extended its reach to the frontiers of the Spanish market with the subsidiary Ipar Blast. While remaining a company operating on home territory, Norblast’s constant challenge is to seek out new markets in Europe and around the world.
